Additional comments…………………………………………….

We have now finished putting our video onto a CD and will be showing our video within the next week. We are now just finishing off the inside of our cover sleeve and have started with our magazine advertisement. by using photoshop on our Imac computers we can use effects and manipulate the still photos we have to create our advertisement. Our main effect from the advertisement is to catch the audiences eye with a different/unusual type of advert.

This is our first idea of what we thought would be convenient for the inside of our cover sleeve :

During the making of the inside of our cover sleeve, we had a new idea so that instead of multiple copies of our female character fading from right to left, we decided to have her standing back to back in black and white which gave it a more unusual looking to it shown below.

this was definitely better as a unanimous vote in our group. My favourite characteristics of this image is that it as if she is torn into to persons and is looking down two different pathways.

The best front cover which was the most similar to our ideas would be the DVD cover of the movie "The Break Up".

As for my front cover sleeve, I have made it in the colours black and white to show that it is torn between the two persons and how they are not together and torn apart. This is a picture of our finished front cover:

For our advertisement we have looked into other artists and how they have advertised their work in music magazines. The best way we decided is to actually use the picture from our front cover of our sleeve to advertise our CD as it shows exactly what the consumer wants if they are interested in it. The below image is our advertisement after completion;

In order to gain feedback we sent out a questionnaire out randomly to people after the looked at our cover sleeve and advertisement so they could give us their opinion on what influences them on buying a DVD and if our advertisement was suitable.

Questionnaire cover sleeve/advertisement:

1.      What gender are you?

       Male          Female

2.      What age group are you?

11-13            14-16        17-19        20+

3.      Do you buy music DVD’s?

Yes                    No

4.      Have you ever bought a DVD/CD as a result of the cover?

Yes                    No

5.      What influences you to buy the DVD/CD?

Circle the appropriate:

Appearance       Design      Artist/Star    Genre    Popularity

6.      Does the front cover sleeve relate to the video

Mark an ‘x’ where you think it stands

     No ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yes
